Taster lessons
Book a 30-minute introduction to drumming you won’t forget!
The taster lesson is an opportunity for you to experience drumming and see how the lessons are broken down into the core skills you need to play the drums. Once you’ve completed your taster lesson you will have a better idea of which course will work for you and how we will work together.
My one-to-one taster lessons are a whistle-stop tour of drumming, packed into a neat 30-minute session. You won’t need anything to get started, just bring yourself along and I will provide all the equipment you need to get started.

Lesson breakdown
As a student new to drumming, we will focus on:
- The core rudiments for warming up and coordination. These little exercises will develop your speed and coordination on the kit.
- The foundations of how to read music for playing the drums.
- The foundations of keeping time and how to move around the kit.
- You will also have the opportunity to see demonstrations of drum playing in different styles and techniques
Here’s a great link to an article by Vic Firth on rudiments for you to read before you start: 40 Essential Rudiments

Experienced players
As an experience drummer we will focus on:
- Feedback on your current technique and play on the drum kit.
- Advice on a lesson plan to help you achieve the improvements you are looking for.
- Goal setting discussion with your tutor (me!)
